The Powerhouse is one of Australia’s oldest and most important cultural institutions. It is Australia’s only museum of applied arts and sciences with an exceptional collection of approximately 500,000 objects. The Powerhouse is undertaking significant renewal through the creation of Powerhouse Parramatta, expansion of Powerhouse Castle Hill, the digitisation of Powerhouse Collection, and the renewal of Powerhouse Ultimo.
The Powerhouse renewal is focused on redefining museums and with a $1.4 billion dollar investment by the NSW Government, is the largest cultural project in Australia.
The Powerhouse seeks to appoint a Lead Designer to collaborate with the architectural team to design, source and manage key elements of the interior fit out of Powerhouse Parramatta.
The successful Lead Designer will be engaged to develop and deliver a range of interior designs for museum circulation and public spaces unique to the Powerhouse in response to creative, functional, and operational briefs developed in collaboration with MKG, Infrastructure NSW and Lendlease.
The Lead Designer will also oversee the production and procurement of furniture and fittings that are included in the base build or delivered by other designers, suppliers, or manufacturers.

Conditions for Participation
Responses must be submitted by a legal entity or, if a joint response, by legal entities, with the capacity to enter into a Contract.
ABN Requirements
The successful respondent will be required to have an Australian Business Number (ABN) and be registered for GST.
Subcontractors
If any part of the Goods/Services is to be supplied by a subcontractor, the respondent must identify the subcontractor and clearly state which Goods/Services are to be provided by the subcontractor. If the applicant is successful, the Contract would be entered into by the successful supplier and the supplier will be responsible for the subcontractor’s performance of the Contract.
