Sydney Metro – Insurance Advisor Services for Western Sydney Airport - SM 2020/038

Sydney Metro invites suitably qualified and experienced suppliers to respond to the request for tender for the Insurance Advisor Services for Sydney Metro Western Sydney Airport,with the potential to extend to Sydney Metro West.

Sydney Metro is delivering Australia’s biggest public transport program. As a new standalone railway, this 21st century network will revolutionise the way Sydney travels.  

The new Sydney Metro – Western Sydney Airport railway line will service Greater Western Sydney and the new Western Sydney International (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport.

Six new stations will be included as part of the project with key stations at Western Sydney International Airport, the Western Sydney Aerotropolis and St Marys, where customers can connect to the existing Sydney Trains suburban T1 Western Line.

Sydney Metro will seek a service provider to procure Principal Arranged Insurance (PAI) for Sydney Metro.

The services will primarily comprise the provision of insurance broking services to the Principal in relation to designing and implementing a PAI Insurance program during the delivery phase (construction) of the Sydney Metro project, that is:

 a)     Fit for purpose;

 b)     Consistent with best practice for a project of this type; and

 c)     In accordance with the Principal’s instructions.

Sydney Metro will be procuring PAI in respect of the delivery phase of the Project and the Service Providers tasks will include:

 a)     Obtaining relevant project documentation for the purpose of preparing an underwriting submission and marketing the project to the commercial insurance market;

 b)     Providing detailed options to the Principal in respect of the PAI program, e.g. limit of insurance, deductible levels and insurance coverage; 

c)     implementation of the agreed PAI program;

 d)      claims services post placement of PAI program; and

 e)      general administration of the PAI program.

Sydney Metro may, at its sole discretion, decide to expand the scope of this Request for Tender to include services in respect of other Sydney Metro projects including Metro West.

Sydney Metro may provide the Request for Tender after the tender release date, however such entities, will have no entitlement to any additional time to submit a Tender and Sydney Metro will not be under any obligation to extend the Closing Date.
