The Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) is seeking expressions of interest (EOI) from suitably qualified operator/s to manage two historic heritage lighthouse property precincts consisting of multiple cottages, ancillary buildings and surrounding lands at Sugarloaf Point and Smoky Cape. A partnership arrangement is also being offered for the tours of the Smoky Cape Lighthouse. A five-year lease with a five year option is being offered.
OEH aims to provide a sustainable, commercially viable opportunity for the sites and is seeking a contract manager with the experience, relevant skills, vision and professionalism to manage the cottages at Sugarloaf Point Lighthouse located at Seal Rock in Myall Lakes National Park and Smoky Cape Lighthouse in South West Rocks in Hat Head National Park as short term, holiday accommodation. This management opportunity is extended to manage both sites or as two separate management opportunities.
The EOI proposals must be for the operation of short-term holiday accommodation available to the general public. The accommodation facility will not be leased out as private accommodation. Any Successful Proponent must provide an on-site 24 hour security presence in the event they decide not to live on-site (Note: the on-site security must be human occupation).
The purpose of this request for expressiopns of interest is to
- Introduce the opportunity to potential respondents,
- Outline the background, guiding principles and objectives of the opportunity,
- Seek creative proposals from respondents on how they would approach the opportunity,
- Allow respondents to prvide details of their skills, knowledge, experience, capacity and financial capacity to develop, market, operate and lease the opportunity.
