Tender Details
The NSW Resources Regulator, within the Department of Planning and Environment, is responsible for compliance and enforcement functions across the NSW mining, extractive and petroleum sectors.
A key function of the Resources Regulator is regulation of safety and health performance at NSW mines and petroleum sites, including the delivery and coordination of emergency management response programs.
The Resources Regulator has a dedicated Emergency Planning & Response Capability team to collaborate with the mining industry, emergency service organisations and other stakeholders to develop emergency plans and achieve an all-hazards, all-agencies approach across the stages of emergency – prevention, preparation, response and recovery.
A full review of the emergency management framework that applies to the mining and quarrying sector in NSW is required to ensure the Resources Regulator is well equipped and can respond effectively in the event of a catastrophic incident.
