The aim of this Expression of Intrest is to seek suppliers capable of working with the NSW Rural Fire Service to develop and construct mixing tanks capable of producing 10,000 Litres of Phoz-Check® Fire retardant MVP-Fx per batch.
The NSW RFS is seeking to build one (1) prototype tank for testing and development, followed by the construction of a further two (2) tanks based on the developed requirments from the prototype. The NSW RFS is looking to work with a supplier to develop the product, both in the design of the prototype and in the subsequent testing and development phase. Following the construction of the intial three tanks, there is an aim to build one (1) to two (2) tanks each year for the following three years.
Fire retardant is used by the NSW RFS to create barriers to slow and hinder the progress of fire. The mixed retardant can be dropped from a variety of aircraft and therefore is used at a wide range of fires and locations. The mixing tanks are to be used to mix the powedered retardant with water in order to create a mixture that meets the manufactueres requirments. This mixture is then either held in tanks at airfields or delivered to sites using bulk water carriers. This mixing tanks will play a key role in expanding the capability of the NSW RFS.
This document is only an expression of intrest and not a request for quote. The NSW RFS is seeking suppliers capable of working with them to develop an effective fire retardant mixing tank. There are questions at the end of the document in order to provide feedback on the suppliers capabilities in order to do this.
