Tender Details
The proposed Maldon to Dombarton Railway is approximately 35 kms of single track freight line from the Main South Line from Maldon to the Unanderra to Moss Vale Line at Dombarton. Rail infrastructure work has previously been undertaken but was suspended in 1988 due to a fall in coal prices and the general economic downturn.
Transport for NSW is now seeking responses from suitably experienced and qualified private sector organisations that are interested in designing, constructing, operating and maintaining the Maldon to Dombarton Railway.
The organisations would undertake the described activities under a fixed term arrangement, on a commercially sustainable basis, without any funding from the NSW Government. The project would be wholly funded and financed by the interested parties.
Transport for NSW is not seeking responses from organisations interested in participating in limited aspects of the design, construction, operation or maintenance of the Maldon to Dombarton Railway. It is anticipated that organisations with such an interest will form consortia to enable them to undertake the entire project.
