Taxi Licence Tender 2019/2020 - TfNSW 2019/007

Applications are invited for 78 taxi licences for release in the Sydney Metropolitan Transport District.

Applications are invited for the 2019/2020 tender for taxi licenses for the Sydney Metropolitan Transport Division. Seventy eight licenses are to be released by the Point to Point Transport Commissioner in this tender.
The tender period is only open for 15 days from 12:00pm on Tuesday 11 June 2019 until 12:00pm on Tuesday 2 July 2019.

All applications must be done online and be accompanied by a $200 non-refundable application fee. If applying for more than one taxi licence, separate applications must be submitted with the non-refundable fee of $200 paid for each.
If a bid is successful, the offer must be accepted within 21 days with the full amount of the bid paid. This amount cannot be paid in instalments.

This information is for individuals, partnerships or bodies corporate interested in tendering for annual taxi licences.

Under the Point to Point Transport (Taxis and Hire Vehicles) Act 2016, Transport for NSW determines the number of taxi licences released each year across NSW. Only annual licences can be granted under this legislation. These licences can be leased but not sold. 

For the 2019-20 financial year, 78 annual taxi licences will be released in the Sydney Metropolitan Transport District via a single sealed tender. You should note that: 

• offers will be made to the highest bidders

• bids will open at 12 noon on Tuesday 11 June 2019

• bids will close at 12 noon on Tuesday 2 July 2019 

• these unrestricted licences can be operated anywhere in the Sydney Metropolitan Transport District
• annual licences can be renewed up to nine (9) times so that a licence is in force for a total period of not more than ten (10) years.  

IMPORTANT:

2. YOU WILL NEED:

   1. to be an eligible individual, partnership or corporation with an Australian Business Number (ABN)

   2. a current VISA or MasterCard to pay the $200 (GST exempt) application fee for each tender submitted

   3. you must supply your (or your company’s) name and contact details

   4. companies and Joint Holders (Partnerships) must nominate at least one contact who is authorised to deal on behalf of the body corporate

   5. a current Australian driver’s licence (optional) 

   6. the tender price you wish to submit - this is the annual fee for a taxi licence in Australian Dollars that you will need to pay within 21 days of receiving an offer and before a licence is issued, and for each annual renewal of the licence

   7. a tenderer can submit multiple bids but they must:

      1. submit each bid as a separate application

      2. accept their highest winning bid if offered for issue before any lower bids will be considered.
