Tender Details
The release of environmental water from the Murray-Darling basin into floodplains, including the Koondrook-Perricoota (KP) Icon Site, is intended to improve ecosystem health. As such, The Living Murray (TLM) Program aims to understand the ecological response of the floodplain to intervention, in addition to providing a long-term indication of the condition of the forest.
Frogs are important indicator species of ecosystem health as they are sensitive to environmental change and therefore likely to respond more rapidly to condition declines than other fauna. Ecological acoustic (‘Ecoacoustic’) monitoring is an established method for assessing the benefits of ecosystem restoration by quantifying faunal responses to condition changes through long-term monitoring. Owing to the large volume of data produced using this method, we are seeking a contractor to use automated acoustic data signal classification to improve overall efficiency while optimising detection accuracy.
