Tender Details

The Environment Protection Science (EPS) Branch of the Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) supports the NSW Environment Protection Authority (NSW EPA) by providing scientific services to aid their regulatory activities. One way the EPS Branch supports the EPA is by analysing environmental samples that may have been affected by pesticide misuse.

To continue this important work, the EPS Branch requires the supply and installation of a Liquid Chromatography – Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS) system suitable for the analysis of pesticide residues in environmental samples (e.g. water, soil, vegetation and animal tissue). The LC-MS system will be based in Lidcombe, NSW.

To evaluate LC-MS system performance, two sample extracts spiked with known and unknown pesticides will be provided to tenderers to analyse. The sample extracts must be analysed on the system quoted in the tender response. Details of the sample extracts are provided in Part C of the tender response.

A given tenderer may supply more than one LC / MS system suitable for this analysis. Where this occurs, tenderers should list pricing and specifications for alternatives separately within the same tender application. The sample extract solutions supplied must be analysed on each system included in the tender. The evaluation panel will assess which system option is more suitable in terms of budget, sensitivity, serviceability and comprehensibility for the end user.
