The project will identify a best practice approach to managing the safe operation of major hazard facilities (MHFs) by:

• conducting a desktop analysis to assess the effectiveness of the current MHF transitional systems and procedures• undertaking a literature review to determine the current trends and best practice in relation to major hazard facilities management• consulting with subject matter experts and other stakeholders• comparing MHF licensing regimes in other state jurisdictions and overseas and their relative strengths and weaknesses• developing options and recommendations for the introduction of best practice administration of MHFs.
