Showgrounds Safety Upgrade - Minor Construction and Maintenance Works - 19-764

NSW Department of Planning, Industry and Environment (DPIE) is undertaking safety upgrades to Showgrounds on Crown Lands.

Showgrounds are an important community asset and are focal points for regional towns. These sites provide important services to the community and provide social, heritage and economic benefits, far beyond the cost of ownership and maintenance. Crown Lands will procure the services of a builder or facility maintenance Contractor through one or up to four separate contracts to manage minor construction and maintenance works.

These are simple, low value works which generally are not expected to require design consultants or approvals. While there is a good understanding of the known defects there is limited information on solutions for remediation, and Crown Lands do not have the resources or capacity to develop scopes for each individual site.

Therefore, it will be the contractor’s responsibility to develop the scope for each individual site and provide solutions and options back to Crown Lands before progressing with the remediation or maintenance works.
