Tender Details
Gunbower and Koondrook-Perricoota forests are situated on the Murray River and together form the Living Murray Gunbower-Koondrook-Perricoota Icon Site. Funded by The Living Murray program, Forestry Corporation of NSW and North Central CMA jointly coordinate woodland bird monitoring at the icon site.
Woodland bird surveys in the Gunbower and Koondrook-Perricoota forests aim to identify the presence, extent and abundance of different woodland bird species at fixed survey plots distributed across all woodland and forest types. This information can potentially be used to identify changes in bird assemblages in the forest over time and enable a better understanding of the contribution the forests makes to the local and greater population of threatened and other woodland bird species.
The Contractor will conduct summer and spring surveys annually at 28 sites across Gunbower-Koondrook-Perricoota, analyse data, and produce an annual report describing woodland bird population abundance, diversity, habitat preferences, and spatiotemporal trends.
