The PTTC's objective is to deliver a customer focused, multi-modal Electronic Ticketing System covering: the CityRail network, State Transit Authority (STA) bus and ferry operations, Private Bus Operators and Sydney Ferries.
It is envisaged that the Electronic Ticketing System would incorporate a contactless smartcard-based technology and all associated operation and support services. The project is seeking to adopt proven technology that capitalises on best of breed in equipment and services supply.
The nature of the project will require comprehensive system integration, supply and support services requirements. The scope of work includes design, development, supply, installation, training, transition into service and the provision of operation and support services. The services will include clearing and settling payments to operator accounts, maintenance, software support, card distribution and card management.
