The WaterNSW manages, operates and maintains bulk water supply asset across the State of New South Wales for delivery to customers. The end use of water varies including irrigation, town supply and industrial supply.
WaterNSW has been appointed as Principal to deliver the Broken Hill Pipeline (the Project). As a result, WaterNSW is seeking to appoint a Principal’s Engineer (PE) to assist the WaterNSW Project Team deliver the technical elements of the remaining scope of the Project up to completion.
It is envisaged that the project will be delivered by a Head Contractor via a Design, Build, Operate and Maintain (DBOM) model.
The PE shall report to the Design Manager who will have functional responsibility for the management of this engagement.
The NSW Government announced in December 2016 that WaterNSW would be the proponent that will build a new 270km raw water supply pipeline from the Murray River to secure Broken Hill and surrounding communities’ long term water supply. .
As proponent, WaterNSW will procure the construction of, own and operate the pipeline, to supply Essential Water in Broken Hill as the distributor of potable water.
The pipeline’s proposed capacity when used in conjunction with the current Broken Hill water supply infrastructure shall be able to meet a peak daily demand of up to 37.4 ML/day. The off take point for the pipeline is The River Murray at Wentworth NSW and shall be pumped to Broken Hill (Block 10) via a series of three pump stations.
There are some additional upgrade and replacement works on the existing Essential Water infrastructure in Broken Hill including replacement of an existing pump station at Stephens Creek Reservoir and replacement of sections of existing transfer mains.
The Government has set some fixed parameters around the Project including:

- The target operational date of December 2018.

The examples must include details on the client, nature and value of services provided and referee details. Inability to provide this information will render your tender non-compliant and will not be assessed.
