NDIS and mental health capacity building – Aboriginal CommunityProject.
The project will identify culturally competent and trauma informed, information sharing opportunities to support Aboriginal people with a psychosocial disability, their families, carers, and community.
A co-design process will be used to facilitate the development and delivery of information sharing opportunities about the benefits of accessing the NDIS. The aim is to effectively engage and build the capacity of Aboriginal people with a psychosocial disability to access the NDIS. The project will also engage consumers’ families, carers and community in the co-design of mental health and NDIS information sharing opportunities and the creation of tailored resources.
The project will use creative and innovative ways of engaging with, and communicating information to each community. It will achieve statewide coverage and respond to individual communities’ identified needs.
