Tender Details

The Collaborative Research – Evaluation of Suicide Prevention Initiatives is funded for $3.34 million over three years. The Ministry of Health is seeking an experienced organisation to develop and lead a highly collaborative research group to undertake a robust evaluation of six suicide prevention initiatives in NSW. These initiatives are contributing to the Premier’s Priority to reduce the suicide rate by 20 per cent by 2023, and support the goals and priorities of the Strategic Framework for Suicide Prevention in NSW 2018-23.

The initiatives are Zero Suicides in Care, Alternatives to Emergency Department Presentations, Assertive Suicide Prevention Outreach Teams, Post Suicide Support (formerly Postvention or Suicide Bereavement), Community Gatekeeper Training and Youth Aftercare. Evaluation of these initiatives will be critical to understanding their impact on the suicide rate and outcomes for people in NSW, and contribute to the evidence base about suicide prevention in Australia.
