Department of Climate Change, Energy, the Environment and Water / Delivery of the final methodology and benchmarks for the new NABERS rating for Apartment Buildings - tender_716

The NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) seeks proposals from suitably qualified consultants to conduct data analysis and develop benchmarks for the National Australian Built Environment Rating System (NABERS) Energy and Water rating tools for apartment buildings. It is a key requirement that the consultant develops the benchmarks in a consistent methodology to other NABERS rating tools and conducts early testing of the draft rating tool at up to 10 apartment buildings across Australia to ensure a good cross section of climate variability.

This project is managed by the NSW Office of Environment and Heritage (OEH) and is funded by the Commonwealth, state and territory governments through the COAG Energy Council, under the National Energy Productivity Plan (NEPP). 

The new NABERS Energy and Water rating tool for apartment buildings (‘NABERS for apartment buildings’) will provide a certified rating of energy and water performance giving a common language for decision makers, and a shared understanding of an apartments environmental performance. The NABERS for apartment buildings rating will support existing and upcoming environmental policies and performance targets, as well as help to unlock energy and water efficiency opportunities.
