Key features of the project include:

Construction of a new 156.6m long incrementally launched four span bridge across the Hawkesbury River approximately 45m downstream of the existing bridge.

Construction of a new approach roads and intersections to connect the new bridge to the existing road network.

Modifications to local roads and access arrangements, including changes to the Macquarie Park access and connection to The Terrace.

Construction of pedestrian and cyclist facilities, including a shared pedestrian / cycle pathway for access to and across the new bridge.

Removal and backfilling of the existing approach roads and demolition and removal of the existing bridge, known as Windsor Bridge.

Ancillary works including public utility adjustments, water management measures and scour protection works, as required.

Urban design and landscaping works including within the parkland area of Thompson Square and adjacent to the northern intersection of Wilberforce Road, Freemans Reach Road and the Macquarie Park access road.

Archaeological salvage in and near Thompson Square on the southern side of the Hawkesbury River.

Prospective tenderers must be prequalified with Roads and Maritime Services under the National Prequalification Scheme for Civil (Road and Bridge) for Construction Contracts at Category B4, R3 and Financial Level F50 PLUS and must have substantial experience in similar works.

An ROI briefing will be held for potential ROI Applicants.
The briefing will be held in Parramatta on Thursday, 11 October 2017 at the Parramatta RSL Club, on the corner of O’Connell Street and Macquarie Steet, Parramatta NSW 2150. The session will run for approximately one (1) hours.
