Tender Details
Tenders are invited to assist with the demolition of the old Sportsmans Creek Bridge at Lawrence. Roads and Maritime Services require the services of a suitable crane, barge(s) and tug(s) for the demolition of the old bridge. The old timber bridge is located over Sportsmans Creek near Lawrence, directly adjacent to the Clarence River. Lawrence is located 25 kilometres north of Grafton on the Grafton-Lawrence Road.
The preferred method for demolition is removing individual spans and piers onto a barge for transportation to Harwood docking station. A conforming tender should be submitted, however, submission of an alternative tender is encouraged should a more viable innovative option that provides a high level of certainty with safety be provided.
A description of works is available in the preview document "04 MWSRT Request for Tenders Section 1.3." More detail on the preferred option for demolition can be found in "11. Options and Structural Assessment Sportsmans Bridge Demolition."
A pre-tender meeting and site inspection will be held at 11 am on Friday 7 December 2018 at the southern side of the old Sportsmans Creek Bridge at Lawrence (Flo Clark Park). Attendance is mandatory to submit a conforming tender.
