Transport for NSW (Transport Infrastructure Projects) / Upgrading of the Great Western Highway from Eastview Avenue, Leura to Bowling Green Avenue, Katoomba - RTA.0005.044.RC.2540

The work under the Contract includes but is not limited to:

Clearing and grubbing.

Protection of heritage items.

Public utility infrastructure relocation and protection including water and sewer mains, civil works for street lighting and protection of Telstra cables. Includes:

Modification of existing and installation of new street lighting and provision of new traffic signals

Construction of underground communications ducting and pits for future information cabling and power services.

Provision of stormwater and sub-surface drainage.

Earthworks to provide for widening of the existing carriageway to provide two lanes in each direction, a median or median barrier and turning lanes to connecting roads

Design and construction of reinforced soil walls.

Construction and re-construction of reinforced concrete and concrete block retaining walls.

Provision of new pavement comprising lean mix concrete sub-base and asphaltic concrete base, including sections of new work as well as overlay over the existing formation.

Construction of flexible pavements on connecting roads.

Provision of safety barriers including modified Type F kerbs with traffic barrier railing.

Provisions for property access.

All other work which the Contractor is or may be obliged by the terms of the Contract to undertake together with any work which is necessary or incidental to the work and all associated co-ordination and supervision of such work.

This is a Quality Assurance contract.

Tenders are invited from pre-qualified contractors at Roadworks Class R20.

Tenderers must comply with the NSW Government's Code of Practice for Procurement.

Tender Documents Reg. No. RTA.0005.044.RC.2540 may be purchased at a cost of $55.00 (including GST) per set.

Please note that documents will be supplied in electronic format on CD.

A pre-tender meeting and site inspection will be held at 10.30am, Tuesday 23 May 2006, at the Leura CWA Hall in Megalong Street, Leura.

Attendance is mandatory to submit a conforming tender.
