This is a Quality Assurance contract.
This is a joint Federal/State funded AusLink Strategic Regional project. The National Code of Practice for the Construction Industry, in accordance with the Australian Government Implementation Guidelines for the National Code of Practice, applies to this project.
Tenderers must comply with the NSW Governments Code of Practice for Procurement.
Tenders are invited from contractors prequalified at roadwork Class B20.
The work includes bridgeworks and the bridgeworks shall be carried out by a contractor pre-qualified at Class B5 or higher.
The asphalt paving works shall be carried out by a contractor pre-qualified at Class A2.
Pre-tensioned concrete Super T bridge girders shall be manufactured by a contractor pre-qualified at Class CC.
The earthworks and drainage components of the work must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA in Class E or D respectively or prequalified for roadwork. The erection of formwork for bridges must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA in Class F or prequalified for bridgework. The primary testing of the work (including sampling) must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA in Class L2.
The Contract involves safety improvements to provide a four lane carriageway with safety barrier median separation to approximately 3.1 kilometres of the Princes Highway (H1), and intersection modifications to suit separated carriageways. The works are located between Forest Road and approximately 1 km north of Jervis Bay Road, south of Nowra. The Works involve earthworks, construction of a 137.6 metre long, six span, prestressed concrete Super-T girder bridge over Currambene Creek, east of the existing bridge, stormwater and subsurface drainage, including stormwater pits, precast concrete and fibre reinforced pipes, precast reinforced concrete box culverts and headwalls, and rock filled gabions and mattresses, design and construction of reinforced soil retaining walls at the southern bridge abutment, asphalt, heavily bound and unbound pavement courses, sprayed bituminous surfacing, concrete, steel and steel wire rope safety barrier systems including terminals and transitions, pavement marking, raised pavement markers, signposting, and revegetation,and relocation/protection of selected water utilities.
A pre-tender meeting will be held at 10am, Thursday 9th November 2006 at Shoalhaven City Council Administrative Centre, Bridge Road, Nowra, NSW. Following the meeting a site inspection will be held.
Attendance at both the meeting and site inspection is compulsory to submit a conforming tender.
