Tenders are invited from contractors pre-qualified at Roadworks Class R20 or higher for the construction of the first section of the Newell Highway Bypass of the Moree Town Centre 2.11km to 4.54km north of Moree.
Tenders must comply with the NSW Government's Code of Practice for Procurement.
The work under the contract involves the construction of approximately 2.2 km of roadworks and a bridge over the Mehi River. The work includes bridgeworks, earthworks, drainage, pavement construction, sealing, construction of safety fence and construction of a seagull intersection with the existing Newell Highway.
The earthworks and drainage components of the work must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA in Class E or D respectively or prequalified for roadworks. The bridgeworks must be carried out by a contractor prequalified with the RTA at Class B5 or higher, the pretensioned concrete members for the bridge must be carried out by a contractor prequalified with the RTA at Class CC. The erection of formwork for bridges must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA in Class F or prequalified for bridgeworks. The primary testing of the work (including sampling) must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA in Class L1.
A pre-tender meeting, including a site inspection, will be held at 10.30am on Thursday 19 October 2006, at the former Moree Leagues Club, 114 Anne Street Moree.
Attendance at the meeting and site visit is mandatory in order to submit a conforming tender.
Tenders are to be lodged in the Tender Box, at RTA Community Relations, Ground Floor, 260 Elizabeth Street, Surry Hills NSW 2010.
