Roads and Maritime Services is seeking tender submissions from appropriately qualified and experienced construction contractors to carry out maintenance works on the LH Ford Bridge over the Macquarie River, located on the Mitchell Highway at Dubbo.

 

The LH Ford Bridge is a 613m long reinforced concrete “balanced cantilever” bridge with a “drop in” waterway span which has experienced significant sagging which commenced after opening in September 1969.

 

The strengthening work includes the construction of two new piers in the Macquarie River, jacking of the “drop in” waterway span and post tensioning of the two outer cantilevers.

 

Some of the work will require the operation of a night time detour.

 

A mandatory pre-tender meeting will be held on 13 June 2018 at the Cascades Motor Inn, 147 Cobra St Dubbo, commencing at 12:30pm. Cores will be available for viewing from 10:00 to 12 noon at the RMS District Office, 28 Hampden St Dubbo.

 

Tenderers must be pre-qualified to B3 or higher for bridge construction and to Financial Category F10 or higher.

 

All tenderers must comply with the New South Wales Government’s Procurement Policy Framework (NSW Framework), Code of Practice for Procurement (NSW Code) and Implementation Guidelines to the New South Wales Code of Practice for Procurement: Building and Construction (NSW Guidelines).
