Tender Details
The work under the contract involves the upgrade of approximately 2.5 kilometres of Schofields Road from Veron Road to Richmond Road- Stage 3.
The works include but are not limited to two major bridges, reinforced box culverts, protection slab over Jemena and Caltex pipelines, earthworks, pavements, stormwater drainage, cycleway/ pedestrian access, public utility adjustments, street lighting, property adjustments and landscaping.
Features of these works include:
· An upgrade from the existing two-lane South Street to a four-lane divided road with a wide central median allowing for future upgrade to six lanes
· Extension of Schofields Road from 40 metres west of Veron Road through greenfield conditions to Carnarvon Road.
· New signalised intersection at Carnarvon Road and future Fermoy Road extension.
· Installation of box culverts across Schofields Road and Carnarvon Road.
· Construction of a 422 metre long twin bridge structure at Eastern Creek.
· Construction of 175 metre long twin bridge structure at Bells Creek.
· 3.5 metre off-road shared paths for cyclists and pedestrians on both sides of the road corridor.
This is a Quality Assurance contract.
Tenders are invited from contractors pre-qualified at Roadworks Class R4, Bridgeworks Class B3 and Financial Level F50 or higher.
The Pretensioned concrete component of the work must be carried out by contractors pre-qualified with Class C1.
The Asphalt paving (machine placed) component of the work must be carried out by contractors pre-qualified with Class A2 or higher.
The Concrete paving (machine placed) component of the works must be carried out by contractors prequalified with Category K2 or higher.
The earthworks and drainage components of the work must be carried out by contractors registered with the RMS in Class E or D respectively or prequalified for roadworks.
The erection of formwork for bridges must be carried out by contractors registered with category F or prequalified for bridgework.
Primary Testing under the contract must be carried out by contractors registered with the principal in Category L2.
The provision of Traffic control under the contract must be carried out by contractors registered with the principal in category G.
