Sydney Trains are conducting a market sounding exercise seeking suppliers of air hose fittings/connectors, hoses and associated crimping tools to be used on Sydney Trains air systems as deployed across the rail network.

 

Sydney Trains currently use band style steel straps on bulb type fittings for PVC hoses but are experiencing poor reliability when used in the rail environment. Sydney Trains is looking to move to a crimped style connector fitting which can be applied by staff in the field. Sydney Trains also seek appropriate tools and accessories required to crimp/apply the fitting solution in the field.

Selected products will suit ½” – 2” PVC hoses and play a pivotal role in maintaining operation of the signalling network. If successful, the product has the potential to be rolled out into across large portions of the Sydney Trains network.
