Sydney Trains & NSW Trains / Supply and Delivery of Batteries, Chargers and Stands for System Substation - WS125240

 BACKGROUND

The Transport for NSW cluster has over 400 traction substations in its 1500V DC electrified network. Batteries & Chargers provide standby and normal operating dc power to mainly support SCADA, Emergency DC lightning, switchgear and DCCBs in system substations.

In addition to a proactive planned maintenance program selected existing substations are being systematically upgraded, and new substations are planned for construction for the next 3 years and beyond. This investment is to support the major infrastructure program to increase train passenger capacity. This includes the successful rollout of the Warratah Train Program.

TENDER BASIS

Submissions that cover both flooded and gel batteries are preferred but not mandatory. Submissions may include the supply of one type of battery (either flooded or gel) but must include the corresponding compatible chargers.

SCOPE OF THE RFP

This RFP is for supply and delivery of Batteries and Chargers. On site Installation is not required.

Batteries must adhere to the Engineering Standard EP 06 00 00 01 SP – System Substation Battery & Charger unless otherwise stated in the tender.

DELIVERY

As a minimum, the delivery of batteries and chargers to Sydney Trains depots in metropolitan Sydney is required, however the delivery to project sites in TfNSW’s electrified network would be favourably received.

CONTRACT TERM

Contract term will be of multiple years with options for extension.

ORDERING

Purchase Orders for batteries and chargers from the awarded supplier are to be ordered through a catalogue. These catalogue orders will be issued electronically to the contracted supplier.

Open Tenders - An invitation to tender by public advertisement with no restriction placed on who may tender.
