Sydney Trains & NSW Trains / Supply of Contact Wire and Dropper Wire - WS172584

BACKGROUND

Sydney Trains is seeking responses to this Request for Proposals (“the RFP”) from suppliers who have a demonstrative ability to meet its requirements for the supply of the Contact Wire and Dropper Wire in this RFP (“the Goods”) at such times and in such quantities that may be required. The Conditions of Contract included at Part D of this RFP provides for the successful tenderer to enter into a contract with Sydney Trains. 

TENDER BASIS

Sydney Trains will consider Tenders partial scope of work and intent of the RFP. Tenders that address only part of the scope (e.g. contact wire or dropper wire) will be considered however whole scope responses will be preferred.

Sydney Trains would prefer to enter into contract with one or two successful tenderers who have the competency, capability and qualifications to supply Sydney Trains with the goods detailed in the RFP. 

 

SCOPE OF THE RFP

This RFP is for supply and delivery of Contact Wire and Dropper Wire. On site Installation is not required.

Contact Wires shall comply with EP 08 00 00 24SP – Contact Wire unless specified otherwise in the tender.

Note: Changes or additions to the requirements to EP 08 00 00 24SP are:

Contact wires contained in European Standard EN50149 and dictate the use for tendering purposes the size, type, configuration and material of contact wire proposed for use in the RailCorp/Sydney Trains and NSW Trains 1500 volt dc overhead wiring network.

Dropper Wires shall comply with AS 1574.

 

DELIVERY

As a minimum, the delivery of Contact Wires and Dropper Wires to Sydney Trains depots in metropolitan Sydney DDP (Delivery Duty Paid) is required.

All deliveries of items Ordered from Part C Tendered Prices Goods and Prices shall be delivered in accordance with Delivery Clause of the Contract and the following:

Test Certificates

Certificate of Conformance

Maximum Weights and Length per wire type and size per drum

 

CONTRACT TERM

Contract term will be of one year with options for extension to two periods of 1 year each.

 

ORDERING

Purchase Orders for Contact Wires and Dropper Wires from the awarded supplier are to be ordered through a catalogue. These catalogue orders will be issued electronically to the contracted supplier.

Open Tenders - An invitation to tender by public advertisement with no restriction placed on who may tender. Tenderers will normally be required to demonstrate in their tender that they have the necessary skills, resources, experience, financial capacity, and in some cases licences, accreditations, etc., to fulfil the tender requirements.
