Wyong South Sewage Treatment Plant (STP) is a secondary sewage treatment plant, comprising four Intermittently Decanting Extended Aeration (IDEA) tanks with a nominal treatment capacity of 48,000 equivalent persons (EP). Upgrading of a number of the plant’s existing systems is required to provide for future increased biological loads and flows and to improve overall operability, performance and reliability of the plant.
The scope of the work required to be performed under the contract includes, but is not necessarily limited to the following:
· Construction of new inlet works structure;
· Supply and installation of new inlet screening, grit removal and handling equipment;
· Supply and installation of ventilation and odour control equipment;
· Supply and installation of inlet diffusers to IDEA tanks 1, 2, 3 and 4;
· Supply and installation of surface aerators to IDEA tanks 1, 2, 3 and 4;
· Supply and installation of new rotating arm decanters to IDEA tanks 3 and 4;
· The redirection of all existing rising mains to the new inlet works structure;
· Supply and installation of inlet pipework from the new inlet works to IDEA tanks 1, 2, 3 and 4;
· Construction of new switchroom;
· Supply and installation of new electrical and control equipment;
· Design associated with the above where necessary;
· Commissioning of all new works including electrical and mechanical equipment;
· Associated landscaping and access road works;
· Decommissioning, demolition and removal of existing inlet works;
· Decommissioning and removal of existing IDEA tank aerators and IDEA tank 3 and 4 decanters;
· Decommissioning and removal of existing switchboards and electrical control equipment.
The successful contractor will be required to develop the design for some of the above components of the works.
