Tender Details
The Burrendong Dam Outlet Works consists of three 60 inch diameter bifurcates branching off the main penstock. Each 60 inch diameter bifurcate has a Ring Follower Gate (RFG) Valve acting as the Emergency Guard Valve. When looking along the main penstock in the direction of water flow, the No. 1 bifurcate is furthest to the left off the main penstock, and No. 3 closest to the main penstock. The No. 2 RFG Valve is due for refurbishment as a preventative maintenance measure to halt any further deterioration in its current condition and ensure ongoing reliability of this important emergency shutoff mechanism.
