Tender Details

Transport for NSW (TfNSW) is seeking industry feedback as part of a market interaction process for two projects in Northwestern Sydney area, the New Richmond Bridge Stage 2 (NRBS2) Project and the Richmond Road Upgrade (M7 to Townson Road) (RRM7). An online briefing will be held from 10.00am to 11.30am on Monday 8 July 2024.

New Richmond Bridge Stage 2 (NRBS2)

The Australian Government and NSW Government have committed $500 million for traffic improvements including a new bridge over the Hawkesbury River between Richmond and North Richmond.

The Project is being carried out in stages:

• Stage 1 involves The Driftway upgrade and is being delivered separately; and

• Stage 2 involves traffic improvements in North Richmond, a new bridge over the Hawkesbury River, a bypass of Richmond town centre, intersection improvements, improved flood resilience, and a new active transport connection between Richmond and North Richmond.

For the New Richmond Bridge project this MIP is specific to Stage 2 (NRBS2).  Publicly available information can be found here New Richmond Bridge and traffic improvements - Stage 2 | Transport for NSW.

We are looking to engage with our industry partners to help inform the development of the procurement strategy including scope, contract form and timing.

Richmond Road Upgrade (M7 to Townson Road) (RRM7)

The Australian Government and NSW Government are funding the proposed Richmond Road upgrade between M7 Motorway and Townson Road, Marsden Park, as part of the North West Growth Centre Road Network Strategy to support development in the fast-growing North West Growth Area.

Transport's aim is to ease congestion and improve traffic flow by widening Richmond Road and upgrading intersections.

The upgrade supports future development and improves connectivity for the communities in the north-west, making it easier to move in and around the area.

The market interaction process

Transport is seeking to engage with industry to undertake the following:

  • provide market awareness of project scope, issues, and timing.
  • gauge market interest
  • seek feedback on contract form
  • gain insight on the proposed project scope

  • seek to understand current pain points for industry (i.e. supply, labour, materials)
