This is a Quality Assurance Contract.
Tenders must comply with the NSW Government's Code of Practice for Procurement.
Tenders are invited from contractors prequalified at Roadworks Class R20, or higher, for the construction of a steel truss bridge with concrete approach spans, and railway realignment including general earthworks, trackworks, drainage and other miscellaneous works.
The bridge construction must be carried out by contractors prequalified to Class B5. The steel truss fabrication must be carried out by fabricators pre-registered specifically for the South Maitland Railway project. The prestressed girder manufacture must be carried out by contractors prequalified to Class CC.
The contractor or subcontractor constructing the track, including ballast, sleepers and rail, will be required to be an Accredited Operator in accordance with the Rail Safety Act 2002.
The earthworks component of the work must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA in Class E or prequalified for roadworks. The formwork component of the work must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA in Class F or prequalified for bridgeworks.
The Primary Testing of the works (including sampling) must be carried out by contractors registered with the RTA in Class L1.
Tender Documents Reg No. 0000.85.MW.3773 may be purchased from https://tenders.nsw.gov.au/rta at a cost of $55.00 (including GST) per set. Please note that documents will be supplied in electronic format on CD.
Two pre-tender meetings and site inspections will be held. The first pre-tender meeting and site inspection will outline the contract. The second pre-tender meeting will be a risk workshop addressing contract risk apportionment and delivery methods with particular emphasis on works undertaken during the track possession.
The first pre-tender meeting, including site inspection, will be held at the Kurri Kurri TAFE Conference Centre, McLeod Rd, Kurri Kurri on 16 May 2007 starting at 10:30am. A time for the second pre-tender meeting will be advised during the tender period. Attendance at both pre-tender meetings and site inspections is mandatory in order to submit a conforming tender.
