Tender Details

TfNSW is seeking to engage a suitable contractor to undertake the completion of maintenance dredging on sections of the Swansea Channel at Swansea in NSW. The objective of the proposed dredging is to ensure the improvement and maintenance of safe navigation for commercial and recreational vessels travelling through the Swansea Channel at Swansea. 

Key elements of works include but are not limited to:

  • Preparation of all required management plans and other documentation as required prior to commencement of the works.
  • Site establishment including mobilisation of all required personnel, plant and equipment (incl. pipelines) to undertake the works.
  • Provision of site safety fencing, signage and all other safety and environmental measures to ensure compliance with the project requirements.
  • Undertake pre and post dredging hydrographic surveys as requested by the Principal of the dredged areas identified on the project drawings.
  • Undertake land-based surveys as requested by the Principal of the sand placement areas identified on the project drawings.
  • Implementation, maintenance and monitoring of environmental safeguards, requirements and measures as detailed within the Review of Environmental Factors.
  • Undertake a maintenance dredge of Areas 1, 2, and 3 identified on the project drawings in accordance with nominated channel design parameters, and pumping of sand slurry to the nominated land-based stockpile area.
  • Controlled dewatering of sand slurry (i.e. single discharge point) at the nominated sand stockpile areas on Elizabeth Island in accordance with nominated fill design parameters.
  • Site dis-establishment including demobilisation of all required personnel, plant and equipment (incl. pipelines) to undertake the works.
  • Removal of all safety fencing, signage and returning of any establishment areas back to their original (or better) condition.

Pre-Tender Meeting

A Pre-Tender meeting will be held via Microsoft Teams on 19 May 2023 at 11:00AM. TfNSW will provide all tenderers with Pre-tender Meeting details prior to the meeting. Organisations wishing to attend the Pre-Tender Meeting are required to provide relevant contact details to Bhavin Desai at Bhavin.Desai@transport.nsw.gov.au. The Pre-Tender Meeting is non-mandatory.

Conditions for Participation

Tenderers are required to have following Management Systems:

  • Quality Management System - the Tenderer’s quality management system must meet the requirements of TfNSW Quality Management System Specification Q4.
  • Environmental Management System - the Tenderer’s Corporate Environmental Management System must comply with ISO 14001:2015 Environmental Management System or AS/NZS 14001:2016.
  • Work Health and Safety Management System (WHS) - The Tenderer’s WHS system must comply with Edition 5 of the NSW Government WHS Management Systems and Auditing Guidelines.
