Tender Details
Erosion occurred in November 2011 during large controlled releases that were carried out due to high inflows into the storage.
Glennies Creek has an unlined and uncontrolled spillway. The primary means of controlling the releases from the storage is from the Outlet Works which consists features that release flow into a man-made outlet channel which leads to the natural creek course (Fall-Brook Creek).
The outlet channel is partially concrete lined (Shotcrete) on both left and right banks. This lining does not extend the full length of the man-made channel.
Severe erosion has occurred on right hand bank of the outlet channel immediately downstream of the concrete lined section
The additional releases has resulted in a reduction of the Outlet Works’ discharge capacity.
The recommended remedial design is a combination of shotcrete (steep slopes) and transitioning into rock riprap when flatter batter slopesare achieved.
