Wyong Shire Council through the Estuary Management Unit is implementing the Tuggerah Lakes Estuary Management Plan. The Plan proposes to undertake several projects for the next five years within the Lakes catchment, enabling the improvement of the water quality conditions and foreshore ecology in Tuggerah Lake, Budgewoi Lake and Lake Munmorah. As part of this Plan, it is proposed to undertake construction of channel remediation and associated stormwater quality improvement works on the existing concrete lined channel in Myrtle Brush Park, Berkley Vale. The works extend from the existing culvert under Bundilla Parade to the constructed wetland downstream. The works include the construction of a low flow vegetated swale adjacent to the existing concrete channel, maintenance access and gross pollutant traps.
