The Institute of Open Adoption
The NSW Government will invest $2.85 million to help establish an independent Institute of Open Adoption. The Institute will lead local and up-to-date research on adoption practices. It will also support the organisations that work in adoption and encourage a change in culture around permanency planning.
As a leader in the development of best practice in adoption, the Institute of Open Adoption will:
- conduct applied research on open adoption from out-of-home care
- increase awareness about the benefits of adoption from out-of-home care
- develop resources to help the sector better understand open adoption and provide expert reports to support decision making around permanency
- improve support services for people involved in adoption.
Prospective tenders are invited to submit a ‘Registration of Interest’ to be considered for the tender.
