NSW Department of Communities and Justice / Request for Expression of Interest for the youth homelessness prevention program for young people leaving OOHC service delivery - FACS.16.156

$10 million per annum (over 4 years) has been allocated to a pilot initiative diverting young people leaving Out-of-Home-Care from the homelessness service system. 

Young people will be supported through a suite of services including

• Personal Advisor (based upon the U.K. model)
• education and employment mentoring
• transitional accommodation support and
• subsidised head-leased accommodation. 

The pilot will be rolled out in targeted locations across the 2017 calendar year using a 4 stage process. Each stage will inform the design of the next stage of the model and use service-user (young people’s) feedback to improve the quality of service delivery. 

The pilot will operate to June 2020. 

The Department of Family and Community Services is initially seeking Expressions of Interest from organisations to lead the delivery of these services under either or both of the first two stages of the roll-out which will roll-out consecutively between January and April 2017.
