Corrective Services NSW (CSNSW) is seeking Expressions Of Interest from suppliers of Workforce Scheduling (WFS) products that will enable it to better manage its workforce scheduling operations and achieve quantum improvements in matching human resources with work activities while enabling day-to-day operational management. CSNSW employs approximately 7,500 staff across approximately 70 facilities (such as Correctional Centres, standalone courts, Community Offender Support Program Centres and other community based offender facilities). With most facilities staffed on a 24/7 basis through 8-hour shifts, work schedules are used to manage resources to meet the operational need for scheduled staff.
CSNSW is part of the Department of Attorney General and Justice NSW (DAGJ) cluster and there is potential for the workforce scheduling system selected through this process to be extended to schedule staff in other DAGJ agencies.
CSNSW already has a mature existing organisational approach for workforce scheduling that operates in two distinct stages; Forward planning (management of a schedule for the future periods); and Immediate planning (management of the daily schedule).
The prospective WFS system must interface with the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system in order to retrieve and return information, including for payroll generation purposes and replace paper based forms, printed schedules and improve support for Scheduled Staff.
