Tender Details

The Victims of Crime Research Agenda identified a number of significant research priorities to be considered over the coming three years.  It also laid the foundation for the Victims of Crime Research Fund, which was developed to provide limited funding to researchers for selected work in the highest of those priority areas.  The Research Fund is intended to support policy development, program design and improve service delivery for victims of crime, as well as promote beneficial research partnerships.

Below are the priority research areas that Victims Services intends to support in 2013 and some examples of the questions that applied research might seek to address:

Victims of non-violent crimes

o    Who are victims of non-violent crime?

o    What is the impact of non-violent crime on victims?

o    What are the needs for victims of non-violent crime?

o    Are there services available for victims of non-violent crime?

o    What are the barriers for victims of non-violent crimes in accessing support and services?

o   What approaches are most effective in addressing the needs of victims of non-violent crime?

Victims with multiple/complex needs

o    What victims of crime have multiple/complex needs?

o    What are these mulitple/complex needs?

o    How are these victims currently provided with services?

o    Are there services available for victims with multiple/complex needs?

o    What are the barriers for victims with multiple/complex needs in accessing support and services?

o    How can victims of crime with multiple/complex needs be supported?
