The NSW Government is establishing an independent Institute of Open Adoption. The Institute will receive seed funding from the NSW Government for up to three years.
As a leader in the development of best practice in adoption, the Institute of Open Adoption will:
- conduct applied research on open adoption from out-of-home care
- increase awareness about the benefits of adoption from out-of-home care
- develop resources to help improve awareness of open adoption and provide expert reports to support decision making around permanency
- improve support services for people involved in adoption
The Department of Family and Community Services (FACS) is seeking your feedback and input on the Issues paper - establishing an Institute of Open Adoption.
Feedback must be received by 5pm on 29 July 2015.

There will be an opportunity to discuss the Issues Paper on the 16 July 2015. This session is open to anyone with an interest in the Institute. If you would like to attend please RSVP with your Name, Email, Phone Number, Reason for Attending i.e. personal/professional interest in adoption.
