Tender Details

Juvenile Justice has developed a new approach, the Joint Support Program, for working with community service providers to support young people under the supervision of Juvenile Justice. The program will improve the support provided to young people in our care through a more collaborative working relationship between Juvenile Justice and our service providers.

The new approach will reduce reoffending and improve outcomes for young people. It takes into account contemporary funding processes and red tape reduction initiatives, and is an evidence-based approach to allow for more flexible, tailored responses.

Some key aspects include:

·       An evidence-based approach based on the ‘what works’ principles.

·       Case management which provides a holistic approach to working with young people as individuals.

·       A person-centred service system, placing the young person at the centre of decision making, along with their caseworker and Juvenile Justice staff.

·       Improved collaboration and cooperation between Juvenile Justice and service providers.

·       Improved flexibility and responsiveness.

·       Improved accountability, outcome measurement and service provider performance measurement.

Juvenile Justice seeks community service providers to deliver:

·       Casework Support in the Central West, Far West, Riverina Murray and South Coast and Southern Highlands areas.

·       Long-term Accommodation based in Dubbo

·       Short Term Crisis Accommodation in the Central West, Far West, Riverina Murray and South Coast and Southern Highlands areas

The services will be funded for three years commencing from 1 July 2013 until 30 June 2016.
