NSW Department of Communities and Justice / Delivery of case management services to defendants appearing in NSW Local Courts - DAGJ 2012/74

The Department is committed to providing early treatment and support to defendants in the criminal justice system through a person-centred approach. The case management service is a key element of a person-centred framework that the Principal is adopting. It marks a shift in the overall management of re-offenders away from a program-driven model, towards an approach that seeks to understand the needs of individual defendants and build a response that adequately meets those needs.

The overarching objective of the framework is to reduce re-offending. It also seeks to:

1. Deliver person-centred support and intervention

2. Address the underlying causes of crime for individual repeat offenders

3. Increase timely access to evidence-based support

4. Improve the efficiency of the justice system

5. Increase confidence in the justice system.

The tender period is for 12 months. Subject to satisfactory service delivery and the success of the operational model the successful applicants may be approached in regard to engagement for a longer term contract for up to 3 years.

Open Tenders - An invitation to tender by public advertisement with no restriction placed on who may tender.
