Tender Details

The NSW Department of Corrective Services is looking to outsource the services to a professional and experienced child care management group/organisation.

The Department established John Mewburn Child Care Centre adjacent to Long Bay Correctional Complex, Malabar, in March 1993.

The Department of Corrective Services wishes to provide its employees and the local community with a Child Care Centre of excellence, with a reputation of providing the best quality child development and care.

The Contractor shall be responsible for the ongoing management and operation of the Centre on behalf of the Department of Corrective Services.

The Centre shall be equipped and managed in such a way as to:

  • Meet the legal, educational, social and cultural needs of the children at the Centre;
  • Meet the needs of parent users and the philosophy and policy aims of the Child Care Centre;
  • Maintain the licensing standards required by the NSW Department of Community Services, any accreditation standards and any other statutory requirement in force at the time;
  • Promote participation in decision making by parent users and Department management; and
  • Accord with DCS policies on Equal Employment Opportunity, Ethnic Affairs and Occupational Health and Safety.

    The Centre is to be funded by parent user fees and subsidies (where applicable) from the Department.
