Tender Details

This agreement is established under the State Contract Control Boards Contract 506 Office Supplies, and all Terms and Conditions of that contract will apply except where explicitly varied by this agreement. Contract 506 provides for the establishment of individual Service Level Agreements (SLA) to meet the requirements of user agencies.

In order to achieve savings in its procurement costs, Attorney General's Department NSW has embarked on the implementation of a number of initiatives in supply management in line with best practice:

1) formulation of contractual arrangements with suppliers in the form of Product/Service Sourcing Agreements. Such "win-win" Agreements are aimed at concentrating Attorney General's Department buying power and providing market-competitive, value-for-money purchases of goods and services;

2) reduction in the number of suppliers to those with the ability to be Attorney General's Department long term strategic suppliers;

3) reduction of inventory levels through the adoption of "Just-In-Time" delivery arrangements;

4) development of Internet/Intranet and Electronic capabilities to reduce transaction processing costs, accessing on-line trade catalogues and introducing Electronic Funds Transfer facilities;

5) improvement in procurement management control through monitoring and analysis of accurate and timely data.

Advantages offered to contractor/s include the opportunity to supply the bulk of AGD's common use goods requirements (approximately $2m). Also, to develop a long term shared business relationship to facilitate an environment to reduce the associated costs of procurement to both the contractor and AGD.

The initiative most advanced in implementation is the establishment of Product Sourcing Agreement for the supply of general office products, office filling & storage, office paper products, writing instruments, computer consumables, selected computer systems media, selected hardware & software and facility supplies; and the introduction of "just-in-time" delivery arrangements for these store items.

The SLA to be established under this Request will apply across the Attorney General's Department with the provision for other agencies such as Public Trustees, Office of Public Commissioner, Office of Public Guardian, Crown Solicitor's Office, Birth, Deaths & Marriages, and Legal Aid to be included.

The SLA arrangements will be for a period of up to 3 years, subject to satisfactory pricing negotiations.
