The NSW Department of Housing is undertaking a program to improve fire safety on all its assets. The Department has prepared a Fire Risk Management Plan, which classifies its dwelling assets into a number of different building template types. The Fire Risk Management Plan is supplemented by an Implementation Manual for each or group of building template types and which sets out a systematic fire safety audit process to identify existing fire safety deficiencies, a scoping process to identify the most cost effective and practical upgrade option, the undertaking of upgrade work and a QA/certification process for the program.
The program will focus primarily on townhouses and pensioner
housing developments as well as low and medium rise multi-storey unit developments.
Organisations interested in tendering must have appropriate technical expertise and sufficient resource base able to offer Statewide coverage to carry out fire safety inspection services as outlined in the tender documents.
Organisations will need to have technical knowledge of fire safety systems gained through work experience, education and training.

If you are first time user of the E-tendering system it is recommended that you attempt to lodge your response at least 24 hours prior to the closing time so that if you experience difficulties with the lodgement the contact officer nominated may be able to assist in resolving any problems.
For large responses it may be advisable to lodge response as a number of separate responses with separate file/s instead of a single response.
