Managed Print Service (MPS) refers to the provision of goods and services as a bundle where the Supplier takes the primary responsibility for the Customer’s print infrastructure and the provision and management of the print and imaging services. This includes a range of commercial and ownership options and is designed to be a flexible service offering which is tailored according to a Customer’s needs.

DCS manages Multifunctional Devices (MFD) and Managed Print Services (MPS) contracts. There are currently two suppliers for the provision of printing and digital imaging services including printing, sharing, scanning and transferring. The incumbents provide services to all agencies in DCS and to other NSW Government agencies through GovConnect, the government shared services platform.

The current Multifunctional Devices and Managed Print Services arrangements are no longer fit for purpose given the latest changes in printing demand, hybrid and flexible working arrangements, Machinery of Government changes, new device capabilities and functionalities. Customers are demanding better accessibility and improved usability, easy to use and intuitive interface experience, increased data security, simplified billing, and more usage transparency.
