Tender Details
New South Wales (NSW) has experienced a series of emergencies since 2019 including bushfires and floods. Access to counselling services to support the wellbeing and mental health of vulnerable students in response to emergencies was critical.
The 2022 floods have resulted in significant trauma and disruption in the lives and education of children and young people across regional NSW, compounding the trauma and disruption effect of the COVID-19 pandemic and previous environmental disasters.
The Department of Education is seeking to provide students with access to accredited mental health clinicians to provide support for the 2024 school year, with a possibility of a one-year extension. The telecounselling support is designed to increase the availability of mental health support for students impacted by emergencies or critical needs in regional, rural, and remote schools, improve mental health outcomes for students and assist students in connecting to the right support as appropriate.
