Tender Details
The scope of work for The Audio Director is:
• Design an audio system to suit the needs of the arena production, the subsequent television broadcast and the budget available.
• When required, to write the audio specifications in conjunction with the technical production team to send to potential suppliers for quotation purposes. It is the intention that the audio contractors as part of their tender responses present two options of loudspeaker designs for the venue. Audio specifications created by the Audio Director will be required to provide for this.
• Participate in the evaluation of quotations received for supply of audio system.
• Provide expert knowledge and guidance in the selection of the audio equipment supplier.
• Provide CAD drawings of the audio design to the technical production team and Department.
• Attend pre-production meetings, briefings and rehearsals as required. Coordinate any pre-bump in programming, attendance/consultation at rehearsals as required.
• Attend the preliminary and sitzprobe rehearsals held prior to show week, for orchestra and stage band.
• Be across all aspects of the bump in and installation of the sound system at the live venue.
• Supervise the audio team during any possible pre-rig, production week, sound checks, technical checks and final rehearsals.
• The Audio Director will lead the audio team during the production week. Any associated costs for additional personnel engaged by the audio director to be met by the audio director.
• Liaise and interface with the television audio director as required.
• Provide expertise in the development of the audio mix for television.
• Coordinate, supervise and produce the broadcast audio mix in the week following the broadcast recording, including the final Mastering prior to broadcast. This should be in consultation with the Arena Producer, Music Director and Broadcast Audio Director.
• Facilitate the incorporation of VET students into Audio Teams for quality experiences with suitably qualified personnel
• Liaise and interface with the music team as required.
• Attend post event evaluation.
Perform other audio related duties as required.
