Tender Details

To determine core competencies and educational framework required to provide safe, effective and appropriate maternity services, from outback Australia to major urban centres, to meet the needs of pregnant and birthing women. The core competencies will take into account the range and complexity of tasks required, and full range of professions involved, to deliver evidence based care.* Identify the key skills, knowledge and behaviours and attitudes(competencies or capabilities) required for all health care workersinvolved in the delivery of maternity care across remote, rural andurban Australia.* Map the competencies identified above against existing education frameworks, competency standards and qualifications. Explore options for changes to the skill mix and opportunities for innovation drawing on literature and service provision experience related to maternity models of care, health re-engineering, role redesign or other health innovation methodologies.* Help ensure all professional delivering maternity services arecompetent and supported in adopting a woman-centred, evidence-based, approach to their work to achieve health outcomes for both mother and baby.
