NSW Health / Disaster Recovery Data Centre Co-location Facilities - NSWAS-200704

The Ambulance Service of New South Wales (ASNSW), part of the NSW Department of Health, is seeking tender responses for the provision of Data Centre Facilities and Services for the co-location of Disaster Recovery (DR) IT equipment for it Computer Aided Dispatch (CAD) environment.

The CAD Infrastructure Upgrade Project (CADIUP) is a major ASNSW initiative to establish a single, up to date instance of the CAD software, related GIS data and IT infrastructure which will support the entire State-wide operations associated with emergency and routine patient transport call taking and dispatch functions.

From a technical perspective, the project will involve the implementation of a highly robust and redundant IT environment to enable a seamless, State-wide operation.

This will include:

• Establishing two highly secure Data Centres located outside of Operations Centres; one for normal operations, the other for business continuity and disaster recovery.
  
• The introduction of new fault tolerant, non stop computers for critical applications;
  
• Implementing the latest version of CAD as well as the latest version of GIS and street data;
  
• Establishing multiple (redundant) high speed data links between the new Data Centres and each of the 4 Operations Centres;
  
• Integrating the Electronic Booking System (EBS) and other CAD related applications; and
  
• Developing a totally flexible workstation, whereby all workstations at any Operations Centre can be used for Call Taking or Dispatching and any workstation can take calls or dispatch ambulances for any Operations Centre in the State.
  
• The facilities and services sought under this RFT comprise:
  
• Secure and accessible space for the co-location of ASNSW supplied and maintained DR IT equipment in a purpose built commercial or similar data centre;
  
• The provision of redundant mains power, UPS and air conditioning;
  
• The availability of redundant high speed communications links to major telecommunications carriers;
  
• Safety and security facilities including fire control and security monitoring; and 365x24x7 access by security cleared ASNSW technical support personnel.

Offered Data Centre Facilities must be located within NSW.

Preference will be given to facilities located outside of the Sydney CBD and within the Sydney Metropolitan Area.
