NSW Health / PABX Replacement (VoIP/IP Telephony System) Bathurst Health Service - GWAHS/2007/04

Greater Western Area Health Service (GWAHS) came into existance on Janurary 1, 2005 as part of the NSW Department of Health's health reform package with the reforms including a reduction in the number of Area Health Services from 17 across NSW to 8 through a series of Area Health Service merges and boundary changes. GWAHS combines the former Mid-Western Area Health Service, (MWAHS), Macquarie Area Health Service, (MAHS), and the Far Western Area Health Service, (FWAHS). The new area includes the majority of central and western NSW hospitals/health facilities (106 sites) with the major centres of: Bathurst, Orange, Dubbo, Broken Hill, Mudgee, Cowra, Parkes and Forbes. Prior to the establishment of GWAHS, selection of telecommunications systems infrastructure (PABX) was a site/facility based process with several vendors providing systems to the many sites within the (now) GWAHS. All telecommunications services and related support services are now the responsibility of the GWAHS Area Telecommunication Manager, rather than individual Facility Managers, with this RFT designed to solicit responses from suitable vendors who can meet the developing needs of the GWAHS in the arena of converged network infrastructure, embracing voice, video, wireless and data networking and related site infrastructure. This RFT addresses the infrastructure requirements of a single site within the GWAHS and within the overall telecommunications strategy of the GWAHS.
